Turkey Meat. In recent years, Brazilian poultry farming has shown great growth in production and turkeys have kept up with this performance. Like broiler chicken, much of the production of turkey meat is exported. However, broiler chicken consumption in the domestic market is quite consolidated, which is no longer the case with consumption of turkey derivatives, which is quite low, despite growth in the last five years. On average, Brazil produces 390 thousand tons of turkey meat per year. Forty percent of production is destined for the foreign market and yields US $ 270 million.
